David Hickey "Sounds of the Solar System"
Summer Solstice Celebration Alix Goolden Hall. June 19th at 7:30 PM. With Over 700 concerts to date, David's work is one of the most amazing and mystical journeys through sound today. Based in Mount Hope, Ontario, David performs with 15-20 Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls. The bowls are played in combination with a Vibraphone, Santoor and 8-18 Paiste Planet, Symphonic and Sound Creation Gongs. and over 15 Quartz Crystal Bowls, 10 Paiste Planetary Gongs, a Vibraphone and Santoor. The intent of the performance is to create soothing, meditative and healing music. David is looking forward to taking his music to even more people across Canada and the Globe with a message of hope, peace and unity through music.  Mantra Meditation
Every Wednesday 7pm with Peter Petley $12 Drop-in
In this class we will learn and practice an ancient form of yoga which utilizes the chanting of mantras for the purpose of meditation.
We will learn how to apply these mantras to our health, vocation, and relationships. Chanting to music will also be a part of the class. These sessions are beneficial both to the inexperienced student who wishes to begin a meditation practice, and to the experienced meditation practitioner who wishes to deepen or further his or her discipline. Peter K. Petley (Akshata Narada) is a practitioner of Nada Yoga and pranayama. He holds a Masters Degree in Religious Studies from Regent College, Vancouver.
