   About June

June is an author, psychotherapist, speaker, workshop facilitator and professional writing coach. She has spent the last twenty years guiding thousands of students in writing and sharing their life stories through a deep and powerful process that completely transformed how they experienced their life journey.

She has worked  extensively with therapy and the arts since 1989.  June has an innate ability to tune into the root cause of a situation and bring awareness and clarity to her clients in order for them to make sense of their lives and heal their pain.  June moved from Toronto in 1998  where she was a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists, certified life skills coach, worked in private practice as well as at a well-known drug and alcohol facility.

Since her move to B.C. she has happily added, ‘published playwright’, to her resume with the success of her play, “Madness, Masks and Miracles”  – a play to dispel myths and stigmas about mental illness,  and has worked as a mental health worker in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side.

June sees the therapeutic process and the creative process as one. “It is about accessing a special place within us where serenity, love, courage and truth reside.  It is from this place we begin to know our true spirit.  It is from this place we begin to heal.”

What makes June an extraordinary healer is she knows “both sides of the couch.”  June, was diagnosed with manic-depressive illness at age 19, and has lived with its disturbing challenges for over thirty years.   Her personal experiences have taught her coping strategies for choosing health and wellness again and again.   She likes to say, “My illness keeps me humble, grateful, and resourceful.”   She brings to her clients great compassion and joy knowing that underneath all the labels, judgments and fear, we are all doing our very best.   In a sentence, June offers hope to what often feels inconsolable, along with take-home tools that bring peace of mind, strength and joy back into the lives of her clients.

June book, Re-Write Your Life A Transformational Guide to Writing and Healing the Stories of Our Lives is based on her 10-week Writing Series:  Sacred Stories, Celebrating Your Life Journey and is now available for purchase on this website.

She currently lives in Victoria, British Columbia and enjoys her humble home by the sea.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

All of us have a story. We have our own rich, unique life experiences and whether you are at home raising a family, climbing the corporate ladder, an artist or a dreamer, you have a story to tell.

Parables, Folk Tales & Legends are what stories are made of and every human life is filled with many. Often we hurry through life not appreciating and acknowledging the fullness and beauty that our lives carry.

Using guided visualization and other creative means, you will re-enter memory and write from the child you once were, moving to special ceremonies such as graduations, marriages and divorces. You will re-capture and illustrate the emotional impact of the births of your children, precious relationships, health challenges. You will describe the deaths of loved ones and share poignant love affairs. You will take us, the reader, into thrilling travel adventures, career moves and recall the choices that lead to the crossroads of victories and failures. By course end you will have weaved each of these significant events into the autobiography of sacred story that signifies your essence, your truth and your life.

Bless and Release the Past. Acknowledge the Gifts in Every Life Story.
